Tuesday Moderate Ride - May 23rd - 9:00 AM - Panera

Tomorrow's weather forecast looks grim, but less grim than it looked yesterday. Showers are expected early becoming a steady rain as the day goes on. The chance of rain is now 70%. It was 90% yesterday.. Lightning is possible. The wind will be from the SSE at 10 mph, and the high temperature is expected to be around 64.

I will not ride if it is raining or if the threat of rain seems particularly credible. I will\, however, wait until tomorrow morning to make a go or no go decision. I will post to the listserv before 8 AM to let you know if I'm riding.

If we are able to ride we will do a scenic route through Lake Forest and Lake Bluff, with a Zen moment overlooking the lake and lunch at Bluffingtons. We are likely to arrive too late for their famed breakfast sandwiches, but the lunch sandwiches are great also.

Our total distance will be around 40 miles. Our pace will be a moderate 13 - 15 mph. With enough people, enough interest, and a willing leader, we will have a second group traveling at a slightly faster pace (16 mph). If it is necessary to cancel the ride because of the weather, I will reschedule it later, since this is an annual favorite.
