I just learned that Schwinn founder Ignaz Schwinn is buried in no-bicycle Rosehill Cemetery!

RE: bicycles and cemeteries
Bike prohibitions have bugged me for a long time now, especially with regards to Rosehill Cemetery, which is only a mile from Rita's and my house.
I personally hope that, when I'm gone from this life, my bicycling friends and relatives will be able to visit any future memorial that they might implement to their memories of me. Although I believe that memorial-funeral and corporal-remains arrangements are primarily for the living, not for the dead, I do suggest that my survivors NOT patronize a bike-unfriendly cemetery.
I've visited Forest Home/Waldheim Cemetery a number of times on Neil Ney's EBC rides. I like that it is open to everybody, including free-thinkers, atheists, bicyclists, and Roma (Gypsies). The only problem with Forest Home is that it's inconveniently located for most of my friends and family (except for those EBC members who are free to ride with Neil on Tuesdays!).

The answer has to do with shifting ideas about bikes and the proper way to mourn the dead. Interesting piece!!!
