TALLY-HO! One and all ! Join me to honor the English cycling heritage and traditions on this leisurely ride through the Wisconsin countryside- farm, fen, field and fell. A vintage bike is not required but observation of the lycra-free dress code is requested.
Lake Mills is about a 2 1/4 hour drive from Chicago, just off Interstate 94 west of Milwaukee. There is a $5 charge for a one day trail pass. The ride starts at the Glacial Drumlin State Trail by the old train station in Lake Mills. Tea and scones will be provided at the station and plan on offering a chorus of "God Save the King." .The trail is well maintained, and there are segments packed crushed stone but most of the 35 mile ride is on lightly traveled country roads. We usually stop for a brew enroute, and then enjoy another one at the luncheon stop. https://bicyclingbackwards.wordpress.com/
I have done this ride before and can attest to "a good time by all."
Please RSVP to let me know if you plan to participate.
