Why does the Metra Union Pacific North Line r...

I have also read that because the population of the communities being serviced by the train live east of the tracks, the RR station 
was  built on on the east side of the tracks so people had a shelter while waiting for the train.
This pertains to UP North formerly the Chicago and Northwestern which was completed in 1854.



I have wondered... and now I know one of the mysteries of life.
