Plan on journeying down the lake front to this National Shrine and important piece of Chicago history. We will do our own self guided tour.  Mother Frances Xavier Cabrini is the first American citizen to be canonized, and the Universal Patron Saint of Immigrants. (We, meaning EBC riders< last visited this shrine in 2014 so I thought it was about time for a revisit). The Shrine is an architectural gem of gold mosaics, carrera marble, frescoes and Florentine stained glass which has been recently restored and reopened to the public. It is located at the former site of Columbus Hospital. There is no entrance fee but an small donation is requested.

Please bring a pair of soft soled shoes (no clips!). Come to learn about some fascinating Chicago history and architecture! Lunch will be at cafe at Chicago History. Museum. I'll probably comment on a few sights along the way.

Bring an extra lock. Given that this is a city ride, there will be a limit of 12 riders so please RSVP

Expect to be back between 1:30-2:30PM.
