Reading further the bill - which would have effectively banned RAGBRAI - the bill was pulled two days after it was introduced.   None the less, it has received national and international (GCN) attention.

Thank you for notifying me of this ill-considered, draconian, foolish piece of legislation. I don’t see how Illinoians can help, but hopefully Iowans can see the dangers and flaws and kill it.

This proposed Iowa legislation, which is in the early stages, attempts to deal with the proliferation of broadly defined mobility "devices" (including ordinary bicycles and e-bikes) in a single shot. Restrictions would be placed on road use and multi-purpose trails.
