Tuesday Moderate Ride – May 5th – 9:00 AM – Panera
This week we are scheduled for the first of two Panera-to-Panera rides. This one is to the Panera in Buffalo Grove. Our total distance will be around 38 miles. I’ll ride at a moderate (13 – 15 mph) pace. With enough interest and a willing leader (Will is not available this week) there can be a second slightly faster group.
For the record, nothing in the above paragraph should be taken as an indication that we will have only two Panera lunch stops this year. We go to Panera frequently, but usually there is some other reason for being in the neighborhood. The Panera-to-Panera routes on the other hand exist only for the purpose of getting us from Panera in Wilmette to another Panera for lunch. In the case of Buffalo Grove there are other lunch options available that riders have occasionally taken advantage of including a Starbucks and a Potbelly Sandwich Shop.
At the moment the weather forecast for Tuesday is acceptable: Cloudy skies with a high temperature of 54 degrees. The wind will be out of the NNE at 5 to 10 mph. The forecast has changed in the past 45 minutes. Rain had been expected. The forecast could, of course, change multiple times between now and Tuesday morning. If the actual weather on Tuesday morning makes it prudent to cancel the ride, I will post an announcement to the listserv before 7:30 AM.
