Holy Cow, it's time for fireworks! This moderate ride will start at Panera Wilmette at 6 pm to take a 20 mile scenic loop north, returning to Panera in Wilmette around 8 pm. After picking up our carry-out dinners we will proceed to the eastern lawn of the Baha'i Temple (just off the west public sidewalk on Sheridan Road south of the Wilmette Harbor bridge and about 90 feet north of Linden Avenue). There we will stake out our viewing location and enjoy our picnic while we wait for the fireworks to start. Feel free to join us for any or all of these activities. This ride is a great way to celebrate the Independence Day holiday! Lights and helmets mandatory, something to sit on highly recommended, (also consider bug repellant).

Right now the weather looks questionable: "Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 87. South southwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%." Temperature certainly looks excellent so lets see how the precipitation forecast shapes up tomorrow: if it still looks dubious I will post a cancellation by 4:30pm.
