Tuesday Moderate Ride – August 25th – 9:00 AM – Panera
This week we are scheduled to ride to Long Grove, which is precisely what we will do. We’ll ride through part of its cute downtown and will ride over the covered bridge, but we’ll be returning to Buffalo Grove for lunch at Culver’s. I prefer the food and atmosphere at Joanie’s Pizzeria, our usual stop in recent years, but even by my relaxed standards I have to agree that lunch simply takes too long for a bike ride.
Because of construction, I’ve had to make some changes in the route. Here, from my library, is a link to the route I’ll be using this year: Long Grove 2026Construction · Ride with GPS. Our total distance is a tad more than 48 miles. I will ride at a moderate (13 – 15 mph) pace. If there is enough interest, we can probably have a slightly faster group.
Tuesday’s weather is promising: a mix of sun and clouds with a high temperature of 79 degrees. Winds from the south at 5 to 10 mph.
