North Shore Half Century Preview (50 mile route)
I'll be leading the preview of the NSC Half-Century route beginning at 9:00 AM, Sunday this September 13. The ride begins at Gillson Park, Wilmette. We will meet on the north side of the Lakeview Center near the beach parking lot, and will depart promptly after the 10 minute grace period.
We will ride at a moderate pace, and I expect to ride at the lower end of the range (13 - 15 ) most of the ride. This is a "no drop" ride, so we will reduce pace as necessary to stay in a coherent group.
I intend to divert from the formal route into downtown Lake Forest (at approximately mile 25) with dining options at either The Fresh Market (850 N. Western Ave.) or Hometown Coffee (231 E. Wisconsin Ave.) depending on group wishes. Other options also exist in the area (Ferentino's Pizza, e.g.).
