Tuesday Moderate Ride – September 22nd – 9:00 AM – Panera
I had been considering two alternatives for this Tuesday’s ride. First, was to do the Middlefork Savana ride that I canceled last Tuesday because of rain. Second, was to try out a new route that uses a sizeable section of the North Branch trail. Given the amount of rain that has fallen in the last week, however, I think both alternatives could be ill advised. So as is my wont when uncertain what to do, I’ll be leading a ride to Greek Feast this week. Here is a link to the route I’ll be using: Greek Feast from Panera 36 miles · Ride with GPS. Our total distance will be about 36 miles. I’ll ride at a moderate (13 – 15 mph) pace. With enough interest there will be a second slightly faster group led by Will.
Tuesday is officially the first day of Fall, and Fall temperatures have already arrived. At ride’s start the temperature will be around 58 degrees and it will likely not get above 61 degrees in the course of the ride. Skies will be mostly cloudy with winds from the ENE at 15 mph. The good news is that there is only a 5% chance of precipitation.
