Tomorrow’s October! It’s time for our annual Casual ride to the famous Highwood Pumpkin Festival. We'll leave 9:00 am on Saturday from the Panera at 1199 Wilmette Ave., Wilmette. I’ve seen no mention of a theme, or of a skeleton invasion as in past years, but there’s also no entry fee.
We typically ride/walk around to view the carved pumpkin walls, then have lunch at Maria’s Café (yes, it’s still open, but if it’s too crowded, we’ll choose an alternate). When activities open at noon, perhaps we can investigate the "contests taking place at Culver’s Curdtoberfest at Highwood City Hall parking lot.”
