This is the first of 2 "bonus" brewpub rides added to the schedule. We venture to visit Eris Brewery and Cider House this Friday Notably, Eris remains one of Chicago's few completely women owned and operated brewing operations.
One drawback to visiting ERIS - they simply are not willing to split checks for us. That means it is necessary for every rider to BRING CASH to pay for your food and drink order. (Yes, that explains why ERIS was not on the list of 10 breweries I selected for my "official" schedule.)

Beer and Cider Notes:
Eris has a wide variety of ciders and beers available. There are specific tasting flights for beer, cider, and whatever the bartender wants to serve on a given afternoon. One can also use tasting portions (5oz) to create your own sampler. The list of beers and ciders can be accessed here: Menu - Liquids — .
Our timing is good; I'll be curious to taste their Oktoberfest. In the past, I've been impressed by their E-Phoria and Blush ciders, and their Lo-kiy Pilsner. I highly recommend a couple of the guest brews; I am enthusiastic to try the West Town Brown Ale. There are also cocktails and non-alcoholic options available. We've visited before, and we generally find something we all like to drink.
Notably, they are doing a joint cider with Piece Pizzeria - which just happens to be our final brewpub destination of this season (October 16).
Dining Notes: The complete food menu for ERIS can be accessed here: Menu — .

They make a great burger, some fine composed salads, and a Friday lunch special of a half-sandwich with chips and side salad. We'll be arriving at happy hour (noon) on Friday, so we'll qualify for that.
I also recommend their shrimp and grits, and the birria grilled cheese sandwich. It's a bit of a culinary mixed metaphor, but it's tasty. Many people have opted for the Mac and Cheese with add-ons; the brisket is a particularly fine addition.
The days are growing shorter, the mornings colder, so let's take advantage of a good weather forecast Friday to visit one of Chicago's originals! See you late Friday morning at Chandler...
