Tuesday Moderate Ride – October 13th – 9:00 AM – Panera
It is almost the middle of October and astonishingly the Tuesday Moderate Ride has yet to make a visit to the Middlefork Savanah. Two rides were scheduled but they and my attempts to reschedule were all derailed by weather and equipment failures. I’ll try again this week.
Here is a link to the route I’ll use: Middlefork-V2 · Ride with GPS. I modified this route a few years back when the Tower Road bridge was under construction. I never got around to changing it back, and now my negligence will keep us off of the construction on Skokie Boulevard. I’ll ride at a moderate (13 – 15 mph) pace. Our total distance will be about 45 miles. With enough interest there can be a second slightly faster group led by Will.
I am not planning any show and tell on this ride, just an observant ride through the preserve. I will, however, stop for any sightings of Sandhill Cranes or Bald Eagles.
The weather forecast for Tuesday looks good: sunny with a high temperature of 79 degrees and winds from the west at 10 to 15 mph.
