This Sunday (October 25), Jay Twery and I will lead a 56-mile Fast Plus ride starting at Bristol Woods County Park in Wisconsin. Here's a link to the route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/39910985?via=YXaISKlbyFeXzLt30jMo0Q
If you've ridden this before, you know there will be some rolling hills and maybe a few not-so-rolling. Most of the route is on scenic rural roads. Lunch will be in Burlington at The Coffee House at Chestnut & Pine.
Sign up for the ride ahead of time here: https://signup.ebcrides.org/app/index.html?openWaiver=sql-sg-7020
Sometimes to avoid a potentially long line at The Coffee House, it's been helpful to order your meal and pay ahead online: https://www.burlingtoncoffeehouse.com. (If you do this, specify 11:30 am as the pickup time for your order.)
The weather for Sunday looks especially nice for late October: about 50 degrees at the start, warming to the mid-70's, with light to moderate winds. If that forecast should change for the worse, I'll post an update by 7:00 am on Sunday.
Directions to start: Take I-94 North. A few miles past the Wisconsin border, take Exit #347 Hwy 165/Cty Q. Turn left (west) at the end of the exit ramp. Go west 2.5 miles on Cty Q. Turn right (north) on Cty MB for 0.8 miles. Turn left into the Bristol Woods park entrance. Follow the park road about 1/4 mile past the picnic shelter at the top of the hill to the Pringle Nature Center. It's a 45-60 minute drive from Evanston/Wilmette.
