Tuesday Moderate Ride – November 3rd – Panera – 9:00 AM
There are a number of forecasts to choose between for tomorrow, none of them great. Generally speaking, the temperature is expected to continue warmer than usual for this time of year, but it should be windy – 15 to 25 mph from the south with higher gusts possible. All forecasts agree that it will rain sometime, but the starting time ranges from 11 AM to 5 PM. If we are able to ride at all, I think a shorter ride is in order.
I’m planning a trip to Max’s Deli by way of Fort Sheridan. The route will be somewhat similar to this route from my library: Short loop to Max's Deli2026construction · Ride with GPS. I’ll modify the route to avoid some construction on Sheridan Road, and to take us to the Highland Park Train station rather than the closed Moraine Park for our rest stop. Our total distance will be about 32 miles. I’ll ride at a moderate (13 – 15 mph) pace. With enough interest there can be a second slightly faster group led by Will.

I have a number of other things to do tomorrow morning, and will not have a lot of time to second guess the weather. If it seems prudent to cancel the ride because of the weather or expected weather, I will post an announcement to the listserv before 7:30 AM.
Speaking of other things to do on Tuesday morning, in my case that does not include voting, but if you have not already voted please set aside some time before or after the ride to do so.
